Sandy Taylor
Sandy Taylor, along with her husband Emmett, has owned Plaza Florist and Gifts since 1983. They reside in Ankeny and have two grown children, Brooke and Trevor. Sandy obtained a Horticulture and Floriculture degree from SUNY at Morrisville, NY. She has taught related courses at both Indian Hills Community College and DMACC as well as at the flower shop. Besides designing in the shop, she also spends many hours outside working in Plaza Florist gardens. Sandy strives to make Plaza Florist an uplifting, creative shop.
Sandy has been a member of the Urbandale Chamber since 1983, serving on the Ambassadors, Development Committee, and Board of Directors. She has volunteered for many Chamber functions including Sample Urbandale, The Annual Dinner, and The Total Resource Campaign. Her donation of time and energy is inspiring to many community projects and events.
Along with the Chamber, Sandy also has also served on or is still active with Executive Women International, her local church, Des Moines Allied Florist Board, and FTD as a district rep. She continues to enjoy being active in the community and meeting new faces.
